# Manchester City: Fans buzz as Layvin Kurzawa news emerges

**Taking to Twitter, many Manchester City supporters have been left buzzing over some transfer news out of France involving Paris-Saint Germain defender Layvin Kurzawa.**

According to reports, on top of the [search for a world class striker](https://twitter.com/David_Ornstein/status/1479426416370499584), Sky Blues manager Pep Guardiola and sporting director Txiki Begiristain are weighing new left-back additions at Eastlands.

Reliable City source and Daily Mail correspondent Jack Gaughan claimed on the Blue Moon Podcast (via [Sports Illustrated](https://www.si.com/soccer/manchestercity/transfer-rumours/manchester-city-drawing-up-plans-on-left-back-signing-for-2022)) that City have already been ‘drawing up plans’ to sign a defender in that position.

In terms of names, AC Milan star [Theo Hernandez](https://sportwitness.co.uk/super-requests-chelsea-and-manchester-city-proposed-very-important-contracts-to-player/) and Wolves sensation [Rayan Ait-Nouri](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-10308895/Wolves-miss-huge-cash-windfall-potential-sale-Rayan-Ait-Nouri.html) are some of the main players linked with news now emerging on another.

According to reporter [Baptiste Durieux of RTL France](https://twitter.com/BaptisteDurieux/status/1482797051607982087), taking to his social media feed, PSG defender Kurzawa has now been ‘offered’ to Guardiola’s side.

It is believed the 29-year-old has been put on the table as an ‘understudy’ and potential back-up option for City to strengthen their substitute’s bench.

### Man City fans buzz…

Flocking to Twitter, many Sky Blues have been left overjoyed with the majority believing he would certainly be an astute back-up option for Guardiola.

Even despite the fact he earns a reported [€700,000 (£582,794-per-month)](https://psgtalk.com/2021/08/psg-mercato-lequipe-reports-layvin-kurzawa-salary-could-result-in-lyon-looking-elsewhere-for-a-left-back/), which roughly amounts to around [£146,000-per-week,](https://psgtalk.com/2021/08/psg-mercato-lequipe-reports-layvin-kurzawa-salary-could-result-in-lyon-looking-elsewhere-for-a-left-back/) Kurzawa also possesses plenty of experience at the highest level and could be a good influence in the City dressing room.

Winning an impressive [18 major trophies in total](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/layvin-kurzawa/erfolge/spieler/126710) with his current club, the Frenchman could certainly contribute to the winning mentality Guardiola has instilled in east Manchester.

Making history as the[first ever defender to score a hat-trick in the Champions League](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/4828289/layvin-kurzawa-psgs-hattrick-left-back/) back in 2017, you could certainly have worse names as back up for star man Joao Cancelo.
