Man City: Sky Blues have a ‘close eye’ on Bukayo Saka

Manchester City are keeping a ‘close eye’ on Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.
The Lowdown: Saka offered new deal
Recent reports have credited the Sky Blues with an interest in the 21-year-old, who has just two years remaining on his current contract, and the Gunners are said to be worried about the attention from their Premier League rivals.
The Daily Mail claim that the England international has been offered fresh terms at the Emirates Stadium in a bid to tie him down and fend off potential suitors, though he is yet to put pen to paper.
The Latest: Man City monitoring Saka
Speaking to GiveMeSport, Jones confirmed that Man City are monitoring Saka’s situation, with club chiefs big fans of the player’s fit in their squad.
“It makes sense that Arsenal get Saka tied up as soon as possible to a new deal, I’m told Man City are keeping a close eye on this situation and think he would be a great fit for them – but they’ll only move if he shows any doubts over his Arsenal situation.”
The Verdict: Sterling replacement?
Man City still haven’t replaced Raheem Sterling since his departure, and Saka would be an exciting frontline addition to take his long-term spot at the Etihad Stadium.
The forward has already made five goal contributions in eight top-flight appearances this season, and currently averages 2.5 shots, 2.4 key passes and 1.6 dribbles per game (WhoScored).

Saka’s influence in the final third would hugely complement the likes of Erling Haaland, so there’s no doubt that Pep Guardiola will be hoping he can prise the talented prospect away from north London.
