Manchester City have been linked with a move for Borussia Dortmund star Jude Bellingham, and transfer expert Pete O'Rourke has now delivered a promising verdict on their chances of securing his signature.

The Lowdown: Pep's interest in Bellingham

Given Bellingham's impressive displays over the past couple of seasons with Dortmund, several of Europe's top sides are all believed to be plotting moves to sign him in the near future.

The Daily Mail reported near the start of November that City have held initial talks regarding the youngster, with it also being detailed that they are confident that he will be tempted by a move to the Etihad Stadium.

With Sky Sports outlining Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain and Real Madrid as other potential suitors, however, there is going to be serious competition to fend off if Pep Guardiola is to complete the transfer, which the same report claims could amount to around £130m.

The Latest: O'Rourke reacts

In an interview with GIVEMESPORT, O'Rourke points towards the financial pull that the Sky Blues have, but also the project in place at the club as key factors in why Bellingham may be tempted to join City:

“Manchester City are always going to be in the market for top players around the world and Jude Bellingham right now is in that bracket.

“Pep Guardiola has previously admitted he’s a huge fan of Bellingham, so I’m sure Manchester City with the finances and the project that they can offer to players, will definitely be in the running for Jude Bellingham.”

The Verdict: Get it done

Of all the offers that the 19-year-old is likely to have, it is hard to see past City as being one of the most tempting, for a variety of different reasons.

The Sky Blues have won four of the past five Premier League titles, so the 19-year-old would be almost guaranteed to win trophies at the Etihad Stadium, while getting to work with Guardiola is also likely to be an attractive proposition, given the Spaniard's illustrious managerial career.

The Man City hierarchy must capitalise on this dominant recent record by bringing the 'sensational' talent to the club, as lauded by talkSPORT pundit Ray Parlour, as he could cement the club's position as the best team in England, while also helping them compete for a first Champions League.

Guardiola has made no secret of how highly he rates the 22-time England international, previously labelling him as having 'the whole package', and 12 goal contributions in 22 appearances this season highlight exactly what he would offer.
