Manchester City fans are far from happy after it was suggested Oleksandr Zinchenko will be the club’s first-choice left-back for next season.
After a mixed season that saw the Citizens win the Premier League and the League Cup but also lose in the Champions League final to Chelsea at Wembley, Pep Guardiola and co will be looking to improve his squad ahead of the new campaign. That is likely to mean new arrivals.
At left-back, Guardiola generally used £22.5m-valued Zinchenko, who was a midfielder at previous clubs and also plays in the middle of the park for his country (Transfermarkt). However, according to Simon Bajkowski, City will stick with Zinchenko in that position and will therefore not look to bring in a specialist this transfer window.
Should Zinchenko be first-choice left-back?
The news was shared on Twitter by @City_Xtra, and it attracted plenty of attention from the club’s supporters. They took to the social media platform to share their thoughts.
