# Manchester City target could leave his current club after all?

[![messi](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/messi-500x330.jpg)](https://cdn.footballtransfertavern.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/messi.jpg)Sensational news has reached the Football Transfer Tavern courtesy of the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2607612/Lionel-Messi-leave-Barcelona-Catalan-club-250m-Argentina-star-saleable-asset.html).

The publication have claimed that the best player in the world, Lionel Messi could well be leaving Barcelona.

As our punters claim, Messi has come under rather a lot of criticism this season and has been linked with a move away from the Camp Nou for the first time in a very long time.

The Argentine of course grew up at the club, and we never thought we would seriously see him linked with a move elsewhere.

Now however, it has been claimed that Barcelona see him as having a bigger value in terms of a move away than actually on the field.

That of course places a few clubs on red alert – with Manchester City leading that race.

The Citizens are of course rather rich and as our punters note, can afford pretty much anyone they want.

Paris Saint-Germain are rather similar and we think that there could well be a bidding war should Messi actually make noises about leaving the Catalan giants.
