# Manchester City: ‘Better than Haaland’ – Fans react to links with Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka

**According to an exclusive report from [90min](https://www.90min.com/posts/man-city-among-several-clubs-scouting-salzburg-striker-patson-daka), Man City are keeping tabs and ‘regularly checking’ on Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka – all whilst filing extensive reports on the player who is said to be valued in excess of £20 million.**

Daka, who enjoyed a fine season in Austria over 2019/2020, netting [27 goals in all competitions,](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/patson-daka/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/365172) was linked with the likes of Spurs a few months ago during the summer transfer window.

Now, as per this exclusive report from 90min, Man City are weighing up a move due to the [injury problems](https://metro.co.uk/2020/10/27/pep-guardiola-update-sergio-aguero-injury-man-city-news-13485201/) plaguing Sergio Aguero and the lack of cover behind Gabriel Jesus.

As well as Daka, both Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappe are being considered as options, with some supporters going on to plead for the African as a sure-fire candidate.

Having their say over the would-be ‘[great signing](https://twitter.com/lempo/status/1321457384670244867?s=21)‘, this ‘[promising](https://twitter.com/mcfctj_/status/1321454433318932480?s=21)‘ update has got many Sky Blues talking – find all of their best verdicts from Twitter here.

### Sky Blue fan reactions to Daka links

> Been saying this for months, he’s defo the type of player we need – fast and clinical. Obviously, I’d take Haaland or Mbappe in a heartbeat, but for a more realistic budget, Daka would be a great signing. [#ManCity](https://twitter.com/hashtag/ManCity?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw)
