The Lowdown: Sensational Sky Blues academy…

The Etihad Stadium has seen a wave of very impressive youngsters graduate in recent years with the likes of Phil Foden and Jadon Sancho going on to become established England internationals.

Even though the latter left for Borussia Dortmund, then eventually Manchester United, Sancho’s talent has been replaced by the likes of Cole Palmer, James McAtee, Rico Lewis, Josh Wilson-Esbrand and Liam Delap – who have all earned appearances under Pep Guardiola over the past two seasons.

City’s crop of rising stars is ever-impressive and could even be starting to rival that of Chelsea – with the latter side famously producing top talent on a consistent basis.

The Latest: City ‘in talks with’ Soonsup-Bell…

Now, it appears the Blues are attempting to steal one of the west London side’s brightest.

Journalist Kinsella of The Evening Standard, also writing on Twitter, claims Man City are ‘in talks with’ rising star striker Soonsup-Bell who is attracting interest from top English and European clubs.

Which of these famous celebrities support Man City? First up, Andy Burnham the Blue?

The 18-year-old is regarded as a ‘top talent’ and ‘one of the most exciting‘ when in possession, but Chelsea risk losing him as his contract expires at the end of this season. Enter Guardiola’s side, who are now looking to poach the promising attacker.

The Verdict: Needed?

If Soonsup-Bell does make the move to Eastlands, he will eventually have to battle past the likes of Delap, Julian Alvarez and superstar Erling Haaland for regular first-team minutes.

It’s clear by Kinsella’s glowing endorsements that the Englishman is certainly worth the effort, but the point of contention, as ever, is City’s real competition for places.
