Sharing a development on Friday, reliable transfer journalist Fabrizio Romano of Sky Sports and The Guardian has broken some exciting Manchester City transfer news.

The Lowdown: Sky Blues busy behind the scenes...

It is no secret that Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Braut Haaland is firmly on the agenda for sporting director Txiki Begiristain and manager Pep Guardiola.

Following The Daily Mail's huge claim of City having a deal in place already for the 21-year-old, a subsequent flurry of reports have suggested that the Sky Blues are favourites above all other suitors to sign the Norway sensation.

However, amid the Haaland rumours, Begiristain and co have also been working on deals for some of South America's brightest talents.

After City sealed the signing of hugely promising midfielder Kayky, dubbed 'the next Neymar', City Football Group chiefs haven't left that side of the world, with the club in talks to sign Atletico Mineiro forward Savinho.

The Latest: Romano shares exciting Man City update...

Taking to Twitter, Romano has now shared a very exciting development out of Eastlands on Friday. He explained:

"Manchester City and Atlético Mineiro have signed all paperworks today for Savio Moreira ‘Savinho’, talented Brazilian winger born in 2004.

"Been told official announcement will be very soon. 🇧🇷 #MCFC

Savinho joins City Group for €6.5m plus sell-on clause and add-ons."

The Verdict: More exciting news...

City are no strangers to sealing moves for some of Brazil's brightest talents, with first-team striker Gabriel Jesus and promising right-back Yan Couto among the growing crop to have come to the club from across the Atlantic.

As this update emerges, it appears that the Citizens are about to announce yet another such coup, and there is plenty of reason for supporters to get excited.

Still only a teenager at 17, Savinho has already drawn some pretty lofty comparisons. The winger has been compared to former Bayern Munich superstar Arjen Robben and also earned likeness to Ajax forward Antony, who is currently shining in the Eredivisie and for the Brazil national team (Goal).

As he joins the growing contingent of South American starlets at City, it appears that he could yet become one of the best.
