In a week where links to Borussia Dortmund superstar Erling Braut Haaland have been prevalent, it appears yet more news has emerged involving Manchester City.

Earlier this week, AS (via Sport Witness) namedropped the Sky Blues has one of the main contenders and big players to sign Haaland alongside Paris-Saint Germain, Real Madrid and Barcelona.

That report explained that Txiki Begiristain and co were only interested in the Norway international at that point despite all of their previous links throughout 2021.

City tried and failed to bring in a natural striker over the summer window and it looks as if, for 2021/2022 at least, they will make mostly utilise makeshift options like Raheem Sterling and Ferran Torres or operate with a false nine akin to last year.

That hasn't stopped Begiristain and manager Pep Guardiola plotting for the future, however, with Norwegian journalist Andreas Korssund making an exciting Haaland claim.

Taking to Twitter, he explains that the Sky Blues are now 'ready to sign' the 21-year-old next summer and the club are now 'planning meetings' with super agent Mino Raiola 'already in January'.
