# Manchester United plotting Adrien Rabiot move

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/) could make a move for Adrien Rabiot this summer in a potential free transfer, [Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-man-united-plot-huge-adrien-rabiot-offer/) report.**

### The Lowdown: 2022 rumours

The Red Devils were heavily linked with a move for the midfielder last year ahead of [Erik ten Hag](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/erik-ten-hag/)’s first season in charge. The United boss was [reportedly](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/manchester-united-erik-ten-hag-adrien-rabiot-transfer-deal/) onboard with a transfer that would have been worth an initial £15m, but as we know, the France international didn’t make the move to Old Trafford.

Rabiot was again [linked](https://www.90min.com/posts/adrien-rabiot-offered-barcelona-premier-league-clubs) with a move to Manchester prior to the New Year but remained in Paris, where his [contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adrien-rabiot/profil/spieler/182913) is set to expire at the end of June.

### The Latest: Transfer update

[Football Insider](https://www.footballinsider247.com/sources-man-united-plot-huge-adrien-rabiot-offer/) provided an update regarding United and Rabiot in the last 24 hours, with their title suggesting that those at Old Trafford are plotting a move.

The report says that Rabiot will want a “huge” deal this summer to possibly cash in on his free-agent status, with rivals Manchester City also thought to be keen.

### The Verdict: Experience…

Rabiot would bring a winning mentality to Ten Hag’s side with [24](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adrien-rabiot/erfolge/spieler/182913) major honours to his name during his career. The 27-year-old also has plenty of [experience](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adrien-rabiot/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/182913) at the highest level for club and country and would provide an option in a [number](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adrien-rabiot/profil/spieler/182913) of midfield roles.

He was also once labelled as a [‘complete player’](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/man-utd-adrien-rabiot-reviews-27704474) by legendary midfielder Andrea Pirlo, so securing a player who holds a €25m [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/adrien-rabiot/profil/spieler/182913) valuation for free could be a shrewd move.

Ten Hag previously green-lighted a deal as well, so the United manager may once again be open to the idea of the France international moving to England, so it could be one to keep an eye on over the coming months as United could actually discuss a pre-contract agreement right now.
