# Manchester United are on red alert over one of the world’s best footballers

This boozy Transfer Tavern is no exception and one piece of gossip that always comes out after a few pints, is the rumours that the Portuguese talisman could make a return to Old Trafford.

In typical fashion there was talk of a mega deal for the winger to return to the Theatre of Dreams more than once over the summer, but as he gets ready to surpass a new land mark in La liga, it appears there could be some truth behind talk of Ronaldo returning to his old hunting ground.

[The Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/manchester-united-plot-90million-cristiano-6488629) are reporting that United are on red alert, ready to pounce with a £90 million bid after it is thought that Ronaldo could be seeking new challenges.
