# Manchester United monitoring Arthur Vermeeren for transfer swoop

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/) are monitoring Royal Antwerp midfielder Arthur Vermeeren for a transfer swoop, according to a report.**

Fred’s long-term future at Old Trafford is no guarantee, given that his contract will have just [one](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/fred/profil/spieler/191614) year left on it at the end of the season, while Donny van de Beek has been [criticised](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/manchester-united-premier-league-donny-van-de-beek-news-updates/) for his performances this campaign.

However, he will not come cheap, with Antwerp valuing the youngster at £20m, in light of his recent performances.

Given that the starlet has only made [16](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/arthur-vermeeren/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/926694) first-team appearances with his current club, it is too early to say for certain whether he would be a success at Old Trafford, but he is exhibiting all the right signs to go on to be a future star.
