# Manchester United: Bruno Fernandes performance vs Chelsea highlights what is to come according to supporters

**After Manchester United grabbed a brilliant[2-0 victory](https://www.sofascore.com/chelsea-manchester-united/mcYb) away to Chelsea on Monday evening, new £47 million signing Bruno Fernandes caught the attention of many supporters who believed he was ‘[magical](https://twitter.com/theresonlywan/status/1229521806127751169?s=21)‘ – with the Portuguese playmaker threatening consistently.**

Fernandes, who signed for the Red Devils in January over a [£47 million transfer](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51292312), had a brilliant first half of the campaign for Sporting Lisbon – where he notched 15 goals and 14 assists in all Portuguese competitions ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/bruno-fernandes/leistungsdaten/spieler/240306)). This fine form prompted United to pay top dollar for his services, with the 25-year-old since going on to impress against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.

According to [SofaScore](https://www.sofascore.com/chelsea-manchester-united/mcYb), Fernandes amassed a 79% pass success rate whilst completing three key passes and hitting the woodwork once – potentially highlighting his continued presence as the game went on. Headed efforts from Anthony Martial and Harry Maguire sealed a crucial win for Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men who are now just three points off fourth spot in the Premier League table.

Here’s how supporters lauded their new acquisition on Twitter.
