# Manchester United: Red Devils contact Marcus Thuram’s agent

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/) have been in contact with the agent of Borussia Monchengladbach forward Marcus Thuram.**

### The Lowdown: Thuram speculation

The Red Devils have been linked with a move for the France international in recent months, with [reports](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/manchester-united-marcus-thuram-dreams-of-old-trafford-move/) even claiming the forward has been dreaming of a move to Old Trafford.

A pre-contract move for Thuram was thought to be a [possibility](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/man-united-marcus-thuram-pre-contract-agreement-news/), with his contract situation at Monchengladbach unchanged. He has been in fine form this season, contributing to [17](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-thuram/leistungsdaten/spieler/318528) goals in [21](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-thuram/leistungsdaten/spieler/318528) games, and it seems as if contact has been made from those at Old Trafford.

### The Latest: United contact

[FC Inter News](https://www.fcinternews.it/in-primo-piano/i-fcin-i-thuram-dall-inter-l-unica-offerta-concreta-bayern-defilato-gli-agenti-aspettano-la-premier-league-917660) shared an update on Thuram on Thursday, claiming that Inter Milan are interested in the forward.

However, the report says that United are one of four Premier League sides to have spoken with the player’s agent, with no offer yet to materialise.

### The Verdict: Smart idea

Thuram is 25 years of age and appears to be at the [peak of his powers](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-thuram/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/318528) in front of goal, so securing his services for nothing could be a shrewd piece of business.

[Erik ten Hag](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/erik-ten-hag/) is short of centre-forward options, with Wout Weghorst only on loan and Anthony Martial suffering various [injuries](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-martial/leistungsdaten/spieler/182877) in recent months.

Therefore, Thuram, [hailed](https://twitter.com/ftalentscout/status/1321203307726196736?s=46&t=Ya1C3dk-iEiRCJwFGMtyjw) a ‘beast’ by talent scout [Jacek Kulig](https://twitter.com/FTalentScout) and valued at €32m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-thuram/profil/spieler/318528), could be an excellent signing for free, making this one to keep an eye on.
