# Manchester United make contact with Wilfried Zaha’s representatives

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/) have reportedly been in contact with the representatives of Crystal Palace forward [Wilfried Zaha](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/wilfried-zaha/).**

### The Lowdown: First Old Trafford stint

Zaha left Selhurst Park for Old Trafford back in [2013](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-zaha/transfers/spieler/145988), however, he struggled to make an impact for the Red Devils in the [Premier League](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league-news/).

The Ivory Coast international made just [four](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-zaha/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/145988) senior appearances for the club and was loaned out to Cardiff City and Palace before making a permanent return to London.

Now 30, Zaha has reached [450](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-zaha/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/145988) appearances for the Eagles, contributing to [165](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-zaha/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/145988) goals, with his [contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-zaha/profil/spieler/145988) set to expire in the summer.

However, United have also been in touch with the player’s representatives alongside AS Roma.

### The Verdict: Avoid?

Zaha, hailed as ‘[unplayable](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/zaha-unplayable-crystal-palace-star-delights-collins-with-his-work-rate/blt0110b658e1b83002)‘ by former top flight defender James Collins, has been a key player for Palace since returning to the club and is currently the [top scorer](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/teams/crystal-palace/top-scorers) in Patrick Vieira’s side.

However, he is [primarily](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/wilfried-zaha/profil/spieler/145988) a left-winger, an area where Marcus Rashford has been starring in under [Erik ten Hag](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/tag/erik-ten-hag/), scoring [14](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-rashford/leistungsdaten/spieler/258923) times in the league from that position.
