# Manchester United: Corentin Tolisso transfer links have supporters baffled over pursuit of Bayern Munich midfielder

**According to a report from German news outlet [Kicker](https://www.kicker.de/769517/artikel/tolisso_lockruf_von_manunited_auch_thiago_spielt_auf_bewaehrung#twfeed), Manchester United tried to sign Bayern Munich midfielder Corentin Tolisso in January, with many supporters bashing links to the ‘[injury-prone](https://twitter.com/unitedman1999/status/1227712436356120582?s=21)‘ Bundesliga star.**

Tolisso, who signed for Bayern in a [£35m deal](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2017/jun/21/corentin-tolisso-lyon-bayern-munich-transfer-record-bundesliga) back in the summer of 2017 and since gone on to make 63 appearances for the club whilst racking up 14 goals and 10 assists ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corentin-tolisso/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/190393)), was reportedly attracting interest from United in January, according to [Kicker](https://www.kicker.de/769517/artikel/tolisso_lockruf_von_manunited_auch_thiago_spielt_auf_bewaehrung#twfeed).

The defensive midfielder has been somewhat out of favour for the club this season, having started just six games in the league ([WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/134894/Show/Corentin-Tolisso)), whilst also missing the majority of December action with a [calf strain](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corentin-tolisso/verletzungen/spieler/190393). Overall, Tolisso has missed [45 games](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/corentin-tolisso/verletzungen/spieler/190393) through injury for Bayern since his move to the club, with some Red Devils supporters thankful that they didn’t end up signing the 25-year-old.

Perhaps the Frenchman could have been seen as much-needed midfield backup at the time due to the [absences](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rashford-manchester-united-injury-news-17590356) of Scott McTominay and Paul Pogba, but with the former making his return soon, the need for a new central midfield man has died down.

As a result, these supporters have slammed reported links with Tolisso – find all of their best comments down below.
