# Manchester United: Dean Henderson’s latest comments delight plenty of fans

**Dean Henderson wants to be the first-choice goalkeeper for Manchester United next season, via the [Manchester Evening News](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-sheffiled-united-henderson-save-17892254).**

Henderson is enjoying a successful spell on loan at newly-promoted Sheffield United. The Blades are currently in 7th, only two points behind Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United, with a game in hand. Chris Wilder’s side are defying all expectations and are currently in the race for European football ([Premier League](https://www.premierleague.com/tables)).

Henderson’s teammate Billy Sharp revealed the youngster has admitted he wants to return to Old Trafford.

[Sharp told the Manchester Evening News](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-sheffiled-united-henderson-save-17892254) “he wants to come back. He wants to play for Man United, obviously – he’s not going to lie – but if he can’t do that he wants to play for Sheffield United.”

The 22-year-old has made 27 appearances for Sheffield in the Premier League this season, keeping 10 clean sheets and only conceding 22 goals. Henderson’s market value is estimated at £16.2m ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/dean-henderson/profil/spieler/258919)).

By contrast, United’s number one David de Gea has played in 29 games for the Red Devils in the English top-flight, saving 8 clean sheets and conceding 30 goals ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/david-de-gea/profil/spieler/59377)).
