# Manchester United: Ed Woodward will sell six players to sanction move for Jadon Sancho

**Ed Woodward wants to sell six Manchester United players to sanction a move for Jadon Sancho, who has a [£117m](https://talksport.com/football/721816/borussia-dortmund-jadon-sancho-price-man-utd-transfer/#:~:text=Expensive-,Borussia%20Dortmund%20set%20Jadon%20Sancho%20asking%20price%20at%20%C2%A3117m,his%20only%20summer%20transfer%20option') price tag on his head.**

Man United have less money to spend than they have done in previous windows, and the executive vice-chairman is hoping to offload some of the stragglers to raise some funds.

According to [The Athletic](https://theathletic.com/1914534/2020/07/09/manchester-united-transfer-window-jadon-sancho/), Alexis Sanchez, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Jesse Lingard and Diogo Dalot could all be sold to cover the costs.

Although United are supported by a steady stream of revenue, even they are vulnerable to the unprecedented circumstances, and sources told the outlet they are expecting to spend [£50m](https://theathletic.com/1914534/2020/07/09/manchester-united-transfer-window-jadon-sancho/) on the winger at the very most.

Sanchez has turned out to be an utter disaster ever since he arrived at Old Trafford from Arsenal in [2018](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1175139/Manchester-United-Ed-Woodward-Sir-Alex-Ferguson-news). His performances have hardly justified his colossal [wages](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1175139/Manchester-United-Ed-Woodward-Sir-Alex-Ferguson-news) which are reportedly worth £400,000-a-week.

Former United boss [David Moyes](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/premier-league/manchester-united/manchester-united-fans-delighted-by-west-hams-decision-as-moyes-set-sights-on-red-devils-duo/) wants to bring Jones and Lingard to the London Stadium as he is now in charge of relegation-threatened West Ham.

Woodward will know he cannot afford to slip up again, as he has made several major [mistakes](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1175139/Manchester-United-Ed-Woodward-Sir-Alex-Ferguson-news) since Sir Alex Ferguson retired.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has made it clear that [Sancho](https://theathletic.com/1914534/2020/07/09/manchester-united-transfer-window-jadon-sancho/) remains his top priority in the summer, even though [the market](https://theathletic.com/1914534/2020/07/09/manchester-united-transfer-window-jadon-sancho/) is still in a state of shock.
