# Manchester United: Fabrizio Romano drops Eric Bailly update

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/) are ‘prepared’ to sell centre-back Eric Bailly this summer, according to [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1527274141476429828).**

### The Lowdown: Wan-Bissaka update

It looks set to be a busy few months at Old Trafford under Erik ten Hag, who has already made a head start on the United job by recently [terminating](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1610751/Man-Utd-news-Erik-ten-Hag-terminates-Ajax-contract-early) his Ajax deal.

A number of players are out of [contract](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-united/kader/verein/985) at the end of June, while others, like Aaron Wan-Bissaka, aren’t in the new manager’s plans.

[Sky Sports](https://twitter.com/SkySportsPL/status/1527295513653125120) revealed that United will listen to offers for the right-back as a result of Ten Hag’s decision, with a return to Crystal Palace [rumoured](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/61313793) earlier this month.

### The Latest: Romano’s claim

[Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1527274141476429828) took to Twitter on Thursday afternoon to provide updates on both Wan-Bissaka and Bailly.

He revealed that United are ‘prepared’ to let the defenders leave this summer but said it ‘depends on the proposals’.

### The Verdict: Right call?

Bailly, who Gary Neville labelled as [‘really poor’](https://bleacherreport.com/articles/2792612-eric-bailly-rips-analysts-for-disrespectful-manchester-united-criticism) back in 2018, has made just [seven](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eric-bailly/leistungsdaten/spieler/286384) appearances this season. His form since 2018 has dipped massively, with his [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eric-bailly/marktwertverlauf/spieler/286384) valuation dropping from £31.5m to just £7.2m.

The Ivory Coast international will be entering the final two years of his [deal](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/eric-bailly/profil/spieler/286384) in the summer, and with his lack of game time this season, it does seem to make sense to part ways.

Ten Hag has been linked with a number of centre-backs since taking the United job, including [Jurrien Timber](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/man-utd-agreement-jurrien-timber-transfer-latest/), [Sven Botman](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/manchester-united-erik-ten-hag-looking-transfer-news-sven-botman-deal/), [Kalidou Koulibaly](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/manchester-united-transfer-update-kalidou-koulibaly/), [Goncalo Inacio](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/manchester-united-goncalo-inacio-offer-transfer-news/) and [Alessandro Bastoni](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/manchester-united-red-devils-pressing-to-sign-alessandro-bastoni/), which may show what he thinks of Bailly and others already at the club.
