Frimpong made the move to Leverkusen from Celtic last year and has gone from strength to strength in Germany.

[Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1584477548150509568) took to Twitter on Monday morning to provide the latest regarding Frimpong, following a recent update from Sky Germany’s [Florian Plettenberg](https://twitter.com/Plettigoal/status/1583484568195039232) revealing United’s interest.

The Italian journalist said that ‘there are lot of clubs interested’ after he scored again at the weekend, with the ex-Man City ace still having over two years left on his current deal. According to Plettenberg, one of those interested clubs is indeed United.

### The Verdict: Wan-Bissaka replacement?

Erik ten Hag has Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as right-back options at Old Trafford, with the latter of the two playing just [four minutes](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-wan-bissaka/leistungsdaten/spieler/477758) of action all season.

He seems surplus to requirements under Ten Hag, so Frimpong could potentially be viewed as a replacement for the right-back.
