# Manchester United: Fans applaud potential decision to sell Ashley Young to Inter Milan

**According to a recent report [from the BBC,](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51028918) Manchester United defender Ashley Young has [‘opened talks’](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51028918) over a potential move to Serie A giants Inter Milan to join up with former teammates Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez ([loan](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2019/aug/27/internazionale-agree-deal-to-sign-alexis-sanchez-on-loan-from-manchester-united-football)) – with these supporters praising the Italian club for potentially taking the Englishman off their hands.**

Young, who has been a long-time servant for United since signing from Aston Villa [in 2011](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/13882802), racking up[261 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/ashley-young/leistungsdatenverein/spieler/14086) for the Red Devils over a near decade-long spell, could be nearing the end of his Old Trafford career if this report is to be believed – despite starting [10 league games](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/8166/Show/Ashley-Young) for the club this season.

Compared to fellow left-backs Brandon Williams and Luke Shaw, Young hasn’t managed to better his counterparts in certain aspects – with Williams amassing a superior pass success rate of[84.2%](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/384143/Show/Brandon-Williams) in the Premier League while Shaw averages slightly [more tackles](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/118244/Show/Luke-Shaw) per game on average than the 34-year-old.

As a result, United supporters have hailed Inter Milan’s interest in the former England international – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.
