The news follows reports of a rejected [£54m bid](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7278359/Man-United-news-Inter-Milan-warned-hurry-clubs-pursuit-90m-man-Romelu-Lukaku.html) from Inter for Lukaku, who is said to want to link up with [Antonio Conte](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/soccer-transfers/story/3873987/lukaku-inters-conte-best-manager-in-world) in Italy.

Manchester United are said to have given [Inter](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7278359/Man-United-news-Inter-Milan-warned-hurry-clubs-pursuit-90m-man-Romelu-Lukaku.html)a cut-off date after which they will block any sale of the Belgian, due to the early closure of the [transfer window](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7278359/Man-United-news-Inter-Milan-warned-hurry-clubs-pursuit-90m-man-Romelu-Lukaku.html) in England in comparison to Italy.

Martial endured a mixed campaign last season, contributing[15 goals](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-martial/leistungsdaten/spieler/182877/plus/0?saison=2018) in all competitions as well as being part of a reported dressing room spat with manager [Ole Gunnar Solskjaer](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6973493/Angry-Ole-Gunnar-Solskjaer-blasts-Anthony-Martials-attitude.html?fbclid=IwAR0Xba5e1_FH_8bXzVLOrrwX5mjVJpv8ToGQASDZQRQk9sVHDRTU0K4sDn8).

Fans are excited after the revelation of a new position for Martial, with some labelling the France international as the ‘best finisher’ at the club.
