# Manchester United: Fans hail latest Mauricio Pochettino update from ‘reliable’ source

**According to a clip from [talkSPORT host Phil Brown](https://twitter.com/Malachians/status/1216779891879763968) on Twitter, a source that fan account The United Stand deem [‘reliable’](https://twitter.com/unitedstandmufc/status/1216781349597712385?s=21), former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino could be on his way to Old Trafford at the end of the season but not beforehand – prompting many Red Devils supporters to praise the update.**

Pochettino, who guided Spurs on a [heroic run](https://www.breakingnews.ie/sport/soccer/tottenhams-route-to-the-champions-league-final-928047.html) to the Champions League final last season, beating Premier League champions Manchester City in the [quarter-finals](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=insYFfPrrFo&feature=onebox) before dramatically squeezing past Ajax, has been[touted](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1207863/Man-Utd-news-Mauricio-Pochettino-Ole-Gunnar-Solskjaer-Tottenham) as a realistic replacement for under-fire manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Indeed, the Norwegian gaffer has [divided](https://www.talkingmanchesterunited.com/2019/10/08/a-fanbase-divided/) a portion of the United fan base this campaign after a dismal start, with many [calling](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10692723/man-utd-fans-solskjaer-out-pochettino-in/) for the club legend to be sacked and replaced by the Argentine. Now, according to Brown’s update on social media, there is a suggestion that he could be on his way to the Theatre of Dreams, weeks after the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7866379/Former-Juventus-boss-Massimiliano-Allegri-eyes-Ole-Gunnar-Solskjaers-Manchester-United-job.html) suggested the ex-Southampton coach was keeping a close watch on what was happening at the club.

Responding to the update, supporters were hopeful that this [‘reliable’](https://twitter.com/unitedstandmufc/status/1216781349597712385?s=21) source would prove to be right – here’s what they had to say on Twitter.

> Very interesting from Phil for Poch fans! Reliable lad Phil too [#mufc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/mufc?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [https://t.co/u31E3z2skJ](https://t.co/u31E3z2skJ)

> I really hope so 🤞 it would be fantastic to see pochettino at United , it would be a wise move for the club before someone else hires him !

> Would really love this to be true. Ole being out of his depth is still my main concern. If he wins a cup and gets us top 4 then fair\
> enough but we won’t do either in my opinion. Even if he scrapes top 4 alone, I would still get rid personally.
