# Manchester United: Fans hail rival player Kevin De Bruyne after ‘genius’ display

**After Manchester City [demolished Arsenal 3-0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FWMjh7gVpfo&feature=onebox) at the Emirates on Sunday, courtesy of a Kevin De Bruyne masterclass, some Manchester United fans have held their hands up and applauded the rival man following a ‘genius’ all-round display.**

The Belgian netted two stunning finishes and assisted Raheem Sterling in a performance that has clearly even impressed some rival supporters, especially since Manchester United [seem to be desperate](https://www.thefaithfulmufc.com/man-utd-could-move-to-sign-100million-attacking-midfielder-in-january-report/) for a quality attacking midfielder of their own to bolster their squad.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have also [had to make do without](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/man-utd-pogba-injury-news-17420720) Paul Pogba’s creative influence in the centre of the park amid speculation that he [could be on his way out](https://metro.co.uk/2019/09/02/manchester-united-paul-pogba-real-madrid-transfer-10673730/) of Old Trafford in the near future.

As a result, flocks of United fans couldn’t help but hail the genius of a rival’s playmaker – perhaps wishing they had a similar maestro to help drive their chase for a top-four finish.

Here’s what Red Devils supporters said about the City colossus on Twitter.

> He is a genius… But whenever he plays against UNITED he turns to novice
