# Manchester United: Fans hammer Anthony Martial following latest pledge

**Coming up to a huge game against Tottenham tonight and then a Manchester derby at the weekend, supporters have blasted winger Anthony Martial following [his latest pledge to score](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-united-martial-news-latest-17356563) against Jose Mourinho’s side.**

On paper, the Frenchman doesn’t exactly look out of form – scoring [three goals and assisting three others](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/122366/History/Anthony-Martial) in the Premier League so far this campaign.

However, with Manchester United currently languishing in mid-table following [four wins in 14 games](https://www.manutd.com/en/matches/fixtures-results), currently fresh off a sub-par [2-2 draw at home](https://www.manutd.com/en/matches/matchcenter?matchId=1059836) to newly-promoted Aston Villa, supporters aren’t exactly in the mood to praise Martial – with some hammering his work ethic ahead of two upcoming crunch clashes, the first of which he has since been [ruled out of](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/11877613/anthony-martial-set-to-miss-manchester-uniteds-clash-against-tottenham).

If the Red Devils hope of getting decent results in their next couple of mega encounters, they will need every man performing at 100 mph in order to potentially claw their way back to top four contention, and Martial making pledges only to get injured hasn’t exactly gone down well with fans.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been [taking most of the flack](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1208878/Man-Utd-news-Ole-Gunnar-Solskjaer-Sheffield-United-Phil-Jones) for United’s lack of form, but in a recent piece [from the MEN](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-united-martial-news-latest-17356563) surrounding Martial, fans didn’t hold back in their opinions.

Here’s what they had to say.

> Has he promised to get his knees dirty and break sweat? the laziest player at the club by a distance and that’s some honour considering 90% of them just wander around thinking about their next holiday or new car!

> It would be good if he could move and get himself involved in a game.\
> At the moment he just disappears of the radar and is back to showing disinterest in every aspect of the team side of the game!
