# Manchester United: Fans hammer Solskjaer’s belief that he needs ‘six signings’ to restore the club

**According to a report from [the Times via talkSPORT](https://talksport.com/football/653095/ole-gunnar-solskjaer-six-signings-transfer-man-utd/), Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is of the belief that he needs [‘six signings over the next two windows’](https://talksport.com/football/653095/ole-gunnar-solskjaer-six-signings-transfer-man-utd/) in order to restore the club as a major force in the Premier League – with supporters blasting the comments as [‘delusional’](https://publish.twitter.com/?query=https%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2FShinjiKouki%2Fstatus%2F1215353652837265408&widget=Tweet) in reply to the Red Devils legend.**

United have been linked with an array of stars over the course of this transfer window already, with the likes [Donny van de Beek](https://www.teamtalk.com/news/donny-van-de-beek-offers-huge-update-on-january-move-amid-strong-man-utd-links) and [Gareth Bale](https://www.football.london/tottenham-hotspur-fc/news/gareth-bale-spurs-transfer-united-17538918) being mentioned recently as rumoured targets. However, according to Solskjaer as per this report, it could be a long time before the club are back at the summit of English football – with the manager apparently needing at least six signings to restore their former glory. Obviously, the Red Devils have been without a league title for seven years, last reigning victorious at the end of the [2012/2013 season.](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/manchester-united-champions-season-player-1847540)

In response to the comments, United supporters have slammed the verdict, mainly holding no hope over Solskjaer and executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward’s abilities to pull of such a transfer overhaul. Here’s what supporters said on Twitter.

> Only six? And only 2 transfer windows? You’re delusional mate
