# Manchester United: Fans heap praise on Aaron Wan-Bissaka for his performance against Manchester City

**Manchester United fans were jubilant with the performance of right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka during his side’s [2-1](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50611309) victory over their arch-rivals Manchester City on Saturday.**

The Englishman’s defensive heroics helped his side get over the line at the Etihad Stadium, with first-half goals from Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial proving to be the fatal blows to the Citizens’ chances of getting anything from the game.

Wan-Bissaka, who joined the club for [£50m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/48784655) from Crystal Palace in the summer, was a key factor in getting his side over the line for their second massive win in the space of a few days, after cruising past Spurs in mid-week.

The 22-year-old has been subject to [criticism](https://www.football.london/crystal-palace-fc/news/townsend-speaks-support-wan-bissaka-17270543) this season after the Red Devils have had a slow start, but now find themselves [fifth](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/table) in the Premier League table.
