# Manchester United: Fans in disbelief after Fred is overlooked in nominations for MOTM award

**Manchester United fans were in disbelief after Fred was overlooked in the nominations for the man of the match award following the club’s 2-1 win over Tottenham Hotspur.**

The Brazilian was in brilliant form for the Red Devils as he notched up the most passes, the second-most tackles and the joint-most interceptions during the 90 minutes [(via WhoScored)](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1376065/LiveStatistics/England-Premier-League-2019-2020-Manchester-United-Tottenham).

Fred hasn’t always been a favourite at Old Trafford as he was lambasted by club legend Roy Keane, who dubbed him a ‘cheat’ for not tracking back during last season’s Manchester derby against rivals City [(Sky Sports via The Independent)](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/manchester-united-vs-man-city-derby-roy-keane-gary-neville-how-bad-fred-paul-pogba-a8885436.html).

However, he has enjoyed something of a resurgence this season and has started the last eight Premier League games for the north-west club [(via Transfermarkt)](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/manchester-united-vs-man-city-derby-roy-keane-gary-neville-how-bad-fred-paul-pogba-a8885436.html)

Fans were firmly on the side of the Brazil international as they took to Twitter in disbelief he wasn’t nominated for the man of the match award.

Here is a selection of tweets from the Old Trafford faithful:

> How on Earth is Fred not on that top 3? He was streets above anyone on that pitch tonight apart from maybe Rashford. Deserves more appreciation.
