# Manchester United: Fans laud ‘magic’ Nemanja Matic for Wolves performance

**After Manchester United edged past Wolves [1-0](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51093972) in their FA Cup third-round replay at Old Trafford on Wednesday evening, supporters have been praising unlikely hero Nemanja Matic for his contribution to proceedings – even going as far to say he should have been deemed Man of the Match.**

Matic, who has been linked with a move away from the Premier League to AC Milan recently ([La Gazzetta via Sky Italia](https://www.football-italia.net/148741/matic-milan-talks)), put in a solid display to help his current side edge into the FA Cup fourth round. The Serbian, [according to WhoScored.com](https://www.whoscored.com/Matches/1442812/Live/England-FA-Cup-2019-2020-Manchester-United-Wolverhampton-Wanderers), had 98 touches of the ball in midfield whilst completing 89% of his passes and winning two aerial duels despite a campaign during which he has rarely been involved.

In response to a fairly impressive outing, some Red Devils supporters have been singing the 31-year-old’s praises on social media after a performance that was deemed [‘magic’](https://twitter.com/fitzygerld/status/1217561999099539456?s=21). Spanish midfielder Juan Mata gave the Red Devils victory courtesy of a superb finish just past the hour mark, highlighting a good afternoon for United despite the fact star forward Marcus Rashford was [subbed off](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/breaking-marcus-rashford-forced-injury-21289487) with an injury.

Even though there were many talking points, these supporters, in particular, have hailed Matic – find all of their best comments down below.
