# Manchester United fans on Twitter desperate for rumours to become reality with Thomas Partey

**Manchester United fans will be bracing themselves for the inevitable exit of Ander Herrera in the summer. The on-going contract dispute with the Spaniard means that with his current deal expiring in the summer he’ll be on his way out. However, *[CNR claim that £45 million-rated Thomas Partey could be signed as his replacement](https://citinewsroom.com/2019/04/01/partey-prime-target-for-man-united-should-herrera-leave/)*.**

> [#mufc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/mufc?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) have identified Thomas Partey (Atletico Madrid) as a summer transfer target. Sources close to the player say he is very keen on a move to United as he wants to fulfil his dream of playing in the Premier League [#mulive](https://twitter.com/hashtag/mulive?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) \[cnr\]

The Red Devils will be desperate to add some serious firepower to their midfield if they lose Herrera in the summer, and the thought of having Partey come in, *[who’s above valuation is provided via Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/thomas/profil/spieler/230784)*, is one that the fans love. If the Ghanaian midfielder was to sign then Old Trafford would be getting a no-nonsense defensive midfielder who would allow Pogba to do the business going forward.

The report from CNR claims that the Atletico Madrid midfielder could be poached for a relatively reasonable fee of just over 50 million euros, as per the 25-year-old’s buyout clause that was inserted into his most recent contract. The last thing that Diego Simeone will want is to see his muscle in midfield poached, but as far as the Old Trafford faithful are concerned, it would be an incredible coup.

> I’d take him, developed really well in the last few years.
