# Manchester United: Fans overjoyed with Pochettino keeping a ‘close watch’ on developments

**Responding to a [piece by the Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7866379/Former-Juventus-boss-Massimiliano-Allegri-eyes-Ole-Gunnar-Solskjaers-Manchester-United-job.html) detailing Massimiliano Allegri’s potential interest in the Manchester United job, with former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino also keeping a [‘close watch’](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-7866379/Former-Juventus-boss-Massimiliano-Allegri-eyes-Ole-Gunnar-Solskjaers-Manchester-United-job.html) on developments at the club, Red Devils supporters have rejoiced at the latter’s reported intrigue.**

Pochettino, who guided Spurs to the Champions League final [last season](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/tottenham/tottenham-route-to-champions-league-final-how-spurs-reached-madrid-a4155681.html) before a terrible start to this campaign resulted in his [dismissal](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/11865128/mauricio-pochettino-sacked-by-tottenham), has been linked with the manager’s job at Old Trafford ever since he parted ways with the London club – even despite the fact Ole Gunnar Solskjaer currently remains at the helm.

Some United fans have been [campaigning](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10692723/man-utd-fans-solskjaer-out-pochettino-in/) for Solskjaer’s sacking this season due to the club’s lacklustre start, with a title challenge out of the question again and the main priority seemingly being a top-four place.

As a result, a section of supporters are excited by the potential for a change in leadership, taking to Twitter and hoping Pochettino makes his way to Manchester.

Here’s what they had to say on social media.
