**Following photos that have been [posted online (via Metro)](https://metro.co.uk/2019/12/17/erling-haaland-pictured-signing-manchester-united-shirt-amid-transfer-speculation-11923511/) of linked striker Erling Haaland signing a Manchester United shirt, among various other jerseys from different clubs, some supporters have buzzed over their prospects of landing the in-form forward in January.**

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side have been [heavily linked](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/erling-haaland-seeks-ole-gunnar-21119247) with a swoop for the Norwegian target man since he started turning heads with his phenomenal numbers, scoring[16 goals in 14 league appearances](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/315227/Show/Erling-Haaland) so far this campaign whilst also finding the net [eight times](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/315227/Show/Erling-Haaland) in the Champions League group stages.

The teenager, son of former Manchester City player Alf-Inge, is being dubbed as a [hot prospect](https://tasteoffootball.com/2019/11/08/player-profiles-erling-haaland-europes-hottest-prospect/) throughout Europe given his stunning form.

As a result, supporters have taken to social media and pleaded their excitement over bringing the youngster to Old Trafford in the looming January transfer window. Indeed, so much so that some are even suggesting he’d be a better fit than RB Leipzig’s Timo Werner, who was linked with the Red Devils by [the Metro](https://metro.co.uk/2019/11/14/rb-leipzig-wont-stand-timo-werners-way-manchester-united-liverpool-come-calling-admits-julian-nagelsmann-11124267/) earlier this month.

Here’s what they had to say on Twitter over potentially securing the wonder kid.

> Haaland is better and easier to approach than Werner. I imagine a Norwegian linkup in the near future with Ole + Haaland + Martin Odegaard 🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴🇳🇴

> With the type of strikers we have at the moment, Haaland is the better option. He comes with a PLAN B..when teams sit back, he has the presence for James crosses. Werner is same with Martial. I like Werner though

> We already have players similar to Werner. Haaland will offer something different

> Werner is not much of a central no 9…..We already have Martial like Werner…. Haaland will bring something else and Ole knows this

> Personally I’d prefer haaland, I don’t feel like we need a striker but if we did get him than it would add a different type of threat and he could only get better
