# Manchester United: Fans praise Daniel James after win over Tottenham

**A number of Manchester United fans have praised midfielder Daniel James after his performance during his side’s 2-1 win against Tottenham on Wednesday.**

A brace from Marcus Rashford was enough to see the Red Devils jump up to [sixth in the Premier League](https://www.premierleague.com/tables?co=1&se=210&ha=-1) standings and [ease the pressure](https://www.skysports.com/football/man-utd-vs-tottenham/408124) on manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

Dele Alli scored a spectacular equaliser for the visitors but it was not enough for Jose Mourinho to get the [comeback](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/50568388) that he had in mind.

Despite many fans heaping praise on Rashford, there was one other player in the squad that also won plenty of praise for his performance.

Since his [move](https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/man-utd-agree-terms-for-daniel-james-transfer-from-swansea) from Swansea City in the summer, Daniel James has [surprised many](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/manchester-united-daniel-james-news-17237147) with his impact in the squad despite the team’s recent poor run of form ([no wins in three prior to last night](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-united/spielplandatum/verein/985)) and the Wales international did not disappoint when Tottenham came to town.

James was effective on the ball as he completed [14](https://www.fotmob.com/livescores/3055883) passes, had [two](https://www.fotmob.com/livescores/3055883) shots, won [five](https://www.fotmob.com/livescores/3055883) duels and had a passing success rate of [70%](https://www.fotmob.com/livescores/3055883) (as per [Fotmob](https://www.fotmob.com/livescores/3055883)).

Plenty of supporters were full of praise for the Welshman and made their feelings clear on social media. One fan mentioned his “tackle” on Mourinho during the match and felt it was his favourite moment.

Here you will find some of the best comments from Manchester United fans:

> Daniel James is still dynamite by the way, although his stats don’t show it.

> Man puts so many good balls into the box, just a shame there’s rarely anyone there on the end of them to covert. My winger \> [#mufc](https://twitter.com/hashtag/mufc?src=hash&ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw) [pic.twitter.com/bBgUr2yJvo](https://t.co/bBgUr2yJvo)

> Daniel James btw. Some engine on the boy. Wouldn’t surprise me if he chased the Spurs coach home to get after Son. He was everywhere last night
