# Manchester United: Fans react as club open talks for Alex Telles

**Manchester United lost out on the [possible signing](https://talksport.com/football/760362/reguilon-joins-tottenham-manchester-united-real-madrid/) of Sergio Reguilon as the left-back ended up at rivals Tottenham Hotspur instead, but the club seem to have found an alternative option, which is causing a lot of reaction from the fan base.**

According to reliable journalist [Fabrizio Romano](https://twitter.com/FabrizioRomano/status/1308091980673622016?s=20), United and Porto are in talks over Alex Telles. The player wants to leave and the Red Devils are negotiating with his agents, which highlights that personal terms are not an issue. He is available for around £18 million. The only problem United face is that Paris Saint-Germain are also looking for a left back.

Last season in Liga NOS, Telles was definitely a stand-out performer as he was strong at both ends of the pitch. In defence, he managed on average 1.1 tackles, 1.8 interceptions and 1.2 clearances per game, via [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/PlayerComparison). In attack the defender scored eleven goals, picked up eight assists and averaged 1.3 shots per game.

He comes with an abundance of [experience](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/alex-telles/profil/spieler/255755) in Europe, including in the Champions League and if Telles is available for the club to buy, they definitely could have a very good left-back for the new season.

Here is what fans said following the news:
