# Manchester United: Fans react as Marcus Rashford is doubtful for England fixtures

**With a small gap [in between](https://www.manutd.com/en/matches/fixtures-results) the 2019/20 and the 2020/21 season, fans will be wanting to see their players fit and raring to go so they are ready for the next campaign, however Manchester United have been hit with some injury news which a lot of the fan base are reacting to.**

According to many media outlets like [The Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8671149/Marcus-Rashford-injury-doubt-Englands-double-header-against-Iceland-Denmark.html), and tweeted out by [utdreport](https://twitter.com/utdreport/status/1299048354740088832?s=20),  Marcus Rashford currently has an ankle injury, and is therefore is doubtful for the upcoming England games.

The striker has a decent record for England, scoring [ten goals in 38](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-rashford/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/258923/plus/0?saison=&verein=985&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) games, and with his very good season at Manchester United last campaign, he definitely could have added to his tally [against](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-8671149/Marcus-Rashford-injury-doubt-Englands-double-header-against-Iceland-Denmark.html) Iceland and Denmark in the Nations League.

For the Red Devils in the 2019/20 season, Rashford played 44 games in all competitions and scored 22 goals whilst picking up eleven assists, [per Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-rashford/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/258923/plus/0?saison=&verein=985&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=), and it was his best season to date. He has now [scored](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/marcus-rashford/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/258923/plus/0?saison=&verein=985&liga=&wettbewerb=&pos=&trainer_id=) 67 goals in 214 appearances for the club and will be hoping to continue adding to this tally for many years to come.

Therefore a lot of the United fan base will be hoping this injury is not one that means he misses the start of the season.

Here is what fans said following the news, with one suggesting this injury news makes it a “nightmare summer” for the club, who have also yet to [secure a new signing](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-united/transfers/verein/985).
