# Manchester United: Fans react to Anthony Martial report

**Sevilla are determined to sign Anthony Martial from Manchester United, [Foot Mercato journalist Santi Aouna reports](https://twitter.com/Santi_J_FM/status/1484492650371760129)**.

Aouna tweeted on Friday morning that Martial ‘remains Sevilla FC’s number choice’ as the January transfer window nears its final week.

Julen Lopetegui has made it his top ‘priority to strengthen his attack’ before trading ceases.

Sevilla are currently 2nd in La Liga, four points adrift of leaders Real Madrid.

But their tally of 32 goals in 21 matches is the lowest of any of the sides in the top four.

### What’s Martial’s situation at Old Trafford?

Martial has [only managed to find the net once](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-martial/leistungsdaten/spieler/182877) in what’s been an [injury-disrupted](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-martial/leistungsdaten/spieler/182877) 2021/22 campaign.

He’s made [268 appearances](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/anthony-martial/leistungsdaten/spieler/182877) in all for United since his [£36million](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/34107092) move from AS Monaco in 2015, scoring 79 goals and assisting 50 more.

The Frenchman has recently been at the centre of a dispute with interim manager Ralf Rangnick.

Rangnick claimed that Martial had refused to play against Aston Villa, prompting him to take to Instagram and issue a firm denial (via [Manchester Evening News](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/rangnick-martial-fallout-manchester-united-22806748)).

Fan feed [Utd Report](https://twitter.com/utdreport/status/1484493805130858496) relayed Aouna’s claims, and here’s what supporters made of them.
