# Manchester United: Fans react to Ben Chilwell and James Maddison rumours

**It’s only October, but there’s already plenty of speculation surrounding Manchester United and their potential transfer targets for 2020.**

\[freshpress-poll id=”252945″\]

One of the players most [heavily-linked](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-united-james-maddison-transfer-17121729) with a switch to Old Trafford of late is Leicester City playmaker James Maddison. The 22-year-old was said to be of [interest](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-james-maddison-news-16374085) during the summer, but remained at the King Power while his teammate, Harry Maguire, made the move to the Red Devils instead.

United are still thought to be extremely keen on acquiring [Maddison](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10197961/man-utd-transfer-leicester-james-maddison-solskjaer/), however, as they look to add more creativity to their midfield.

The former Norwich man would certainly bring that to the team, having already registered [two goals and two assists](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/james-maddison/profil/spieler/294057) for the Foxes in the Premier League this term.

Another player rumoured to be heading north is defender [Ben Chilwell](https://www.sportsmole.co.uk/football/man-utd/transfer-talk/news/man-united-eye-chilwell-as-shaw-replacement_375951.html) as the Red Devils look to bolster their options at left-back with the consistent injuries plaguing [Luke Shaw](https://www.90min.com/posts/6462705-luke-shaw-why-manchester-united-must-replace-the-injury-prone-left-back-in-january).

Chilwell is one of the [hottest prospects](https://talksport.com/football/552922/pep-guardiola-told-ben-chilwell-hes-a-really-talented-player-after-manchester-citys-dramatic-win-over-leicester-foxes-full-back-reveals/) in the Premier League at the moment and is reportedly gathering interest from [Chelsea](https://talksport.com/football/614203/chelsea-transfer-ben-chilwell-man-utd-leicester/) as well as United.

Here’s how United fans reacted to the transfer rumours on Twitter; clearly many are more keen on Maddison than they are Chilwell..

> Maddinson will happen but Chiwell will be hard coz Leicester won’t sell both for sure, Maddinson is a boyhood fan that’s why it can happen
