# Manchester United: Fans react to team’s performance following narrow EFL Cup win

**Manchester United only just edged past League One Rochdale in the EFL Cup last night.**

After [Mason Greenwood](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49736850) initially opened the scoring for the hosts on the 68th minute, the visitors struck back through Luke Matheson on the 76th minute, which meant that penalties had to be introduced to determine the winner.

United converted all five of their spot-kicks, as Dale’s Jimmy Keohane missed his to ensure the Red Devils progressed through to the next round of the competition.

It was a far from convincing performance from the hosts, however, who had the likes of [Fred](https://www.skysports.com/football/man-utd-vs-rochdale/teams/420331), Paul Pogba, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Jesse Lingard all playing for them.

It is yet another cause for concern for United fans, who saw their side comfortably beaten 2-0 by [West Ham](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49705145) on Sunday. Some are now calling for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be replaced, as shown by these disgruntled Tweets by fans of the club…
