# Manchester United: Fans slam Ole Gunnar Solskjaer decision to take Alex Telles off

**Many Manchester United fans have been slamming the decision by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to take off Alex Telles at half-time versus RB Leipzig in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.**

The Norwegian boss decided to bring off the Brazil international for Donny van de Beek instead of Luke Shaw, despite the latter having picked up a booking in the first half and the fact that the Red Devils were already 2-0 down.

Shaw was eventually replaced by another left-back in Brandon Williams.

Telles, playing in the more advanced left wing-back role, had won four of his duels in the first half, and also completed 100% of his attempted dribbles, as well as making a key pass ([Sofascore](https://www.sofascore.com/rb-leipzig-manchester-united/KskCo)).

Although the Old Trafford faithful managed to pull two goals back late on in the second half, the German side still managed to win 3-2 at home on the night, suggesting that Telles could have offered that little extra threat going forward as he had done in the first half in order to try and get a another goal and thus tie the game up, which would have put them through to the knockout stages instead of consequently dropping down into the Europa League.
