# Manchester United: Fans slam Ole Gunnar Solskjaer following ‘ridiculous’ quote

**Responding to quotes via [the Daily Mirror](https://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/ole-gunnar-solskjaer-admits-man-21169998), Manchester United fans have been left appalled by manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s recent comments over not being able to play like bitter rivals Manchester City – somewhat echoing former boss David Moyes’ [sentiments](https://www.walesonline.co.uk/sport/football/david-moyes-sacked-20-quotes-7014110) from the 2013/2014 season.**

Speaking before United’s [2-0 victory at Burnley](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fy87ZOxrj7o&feature=onebox), with goals coming from Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford at the latter stages of each half, Solskjaer hinted that his side cannot replicate City’s passing style of play – hoping that they may do in future.

The Red Devils were drawn against their cross-town rivals in the Carabao Cup [semi-final draw](https://www.efl.com/news/2019/december/carabao-cup-semi-final-draw-confirmed/) and have already beaten them once this season – heroically taking the bragging rights in a [2-1 win at the Etihad Stadium.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kmYSfQEIH8)

However, the Norwegian manager still respects the Sky Blues’ style of play and appears to admire their football – leading some United fans to criticise the boss’ comments.

Here’s what they had to say on Twitter.

> Basically what Moyes said.
