# Manchester United: Fans take to Twitter to laud sublime Dan James

**Manchester United kicked off their pre-season tour over the weekend when they took on Perth Glory in Australia, and though it took the Red Devils 60 minutes to break the deadlock against their A-League opponents, they managed to score two goals without response.**

The main positive, as you can see from the tweet included above, was the performance of debutant Daniel James. The Welshman signed from Swansea back in early June, [ManUtd.com](https://www.manutd.com/en/news/detail/man-utd-agree-terms-for-daniel-james-transfer-from-swansea), and it’s only taken him 45 minutes to show his new fans what he can do with a man of the match performance.

James started the clash and looked lively throughout his opening 45 minutes as a Manchester United player, winning three fouls before fading later in the game, according to Samuel Luckhurst of the [Manchester Evening News](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/man-utd-player-ratings-pogba-16579842), who gave him a 7/10 match rating.
