# Manchester United handed significant injury concern

[*The Evening Standard* reported that Anthony Martial left Wembley last night on crutches](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/manchester-united-injury-news-anthony-martial-limps-away-from-wembley-but-deschamps-says-its-just-a-a3117031.html), following France’s 2-0 defeat to England, and [pictures confirming the reports were subsequently shared around social media.](https://twitter.com/TransferTavern/status/666913143415771136)

19-year-old Martial was withdrawn in the 66th minute of the international friendly after picking up the problem, though France boss [Didier Deschamps has lessened the concerns of United fans by stating it’s a minor knock.](https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/manchester-united-injury-news-anthony-martial-limps-away-from-wembley-but-deschamps-says-its-just-a-a3117031.html)

United will understandably monitor the situation as the week progresses, ahead of a crucial run of fixtures that sees them play PSV Eindhoven, Leicester City and West Ham in the space of two weeks.

With five goals in his first 14 appearances in a Red Devils jersey, any absence of Martial will provide a significant blow to United’s options going forward.
