# Manchester United: Harry Maguire receives huge praise from supporters following ‘mad’ defensive statistic

**According to statistics courtesy of news account [utdreport](https://twitter.com/unitedredscom/status/1232390511463456768?s=21), Manchester United have kept the joint-second most clean sheets in Europe this season, with supporters flocking to hail Harry Maguire in particular along with a special nod to Aaron Wan-Bissaka.**

Maguire, who was signed for a defensive world record [£80m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/49224905) fee last summer, has since gone on to accumulate [27](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/99487/Show/Harry-Maguire) league starts for the Red Devils, becoming a mainstay of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s backline.

Compared to centre-back partner Victor Lindelof’s [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/100008/History/Victor-Lindel%C3%B6f) stats from last season, Maguire has managed to better the Swede’s rate of interceptions ([1.8](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/99487/Show/Harry-Maguire)) and clearances per game ([4.1](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/99487/Show/Harry-Maguire)), perhaps hinting that the England international’s presence has indeed helped United to remain resolute in defence. According to [utdreport](https://twitter.com/unitedredscom/status/1232390511463456768?s=21), the Red Devils have kept 17 clean sheets in all competitions, with only Paris Saint-Germain bettering that record with 22.

As a result, many United supporters have flocked to hail Maguire, with special nods to fellow summer signing Wan-Bissaka. You can find all of their best comments down below, as one fan felt it was ‘mad’ the Red Devils have such great defensive numbers.

> Some fans won’t like to admit it, but Maguire & AWB have been successful signings and made a huge difference to our defence 👏

> That’s mad to think. We’ve conceded 8 goals off corners aswell… if we effectively work on that then we’re looking solid
