# Manchester United: Red Devils interested in Leandro Paredes

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/) are interested in a move for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Leandro Paredes.**

### The Lowdown: Paredes profiled

The 28-year-old is [primarily](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leandro-paredes/profil/spieler/166237) a defensive midfielder but can play in central or attacking roles and has been with PSG since [2019](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leandro-paredes/transfers/spieler/166237).

The [44-cap](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leandro-paredes/profil/spieler/166237) Argentina international has made [113](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leandro-paredes/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/166237) appearances for the French champions, winning an impressive [eight](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leandro-paredes/erfolge/spieler/166237) trophies at the Parc des Princes.

Described as a player with [‘perfect’](https://psgtalk.com/2021/02/former-psg-midfielder-has-high-praise-for-the-marco-verratti-leandro-paredes-tandem/) tempo by former PSG midfielder Fabrice Pancrate, Paredes is valued at £15.3m by [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leandro-paredes/profil/spieler/166237), and it looks as if he is on United’s radar as they seek midfield reinforcements.

### The Latest: United interested in Paredes

According to [Sky Sports journalist Angelo Mangiante](https://twitter.com/angelomangiante/status/1546206323548766212?s=21&t=GtJvodPp2ALeBq_3gyx5Nw), United are ‘interested’ in a move for Paredes, with talks ongoing between the parties involved.

Recent [reports](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/19157461/man-utd-leandro-paredes-psg-ten-hag/) elsewhere have claimed that the Red Devils have made an enquiry for the midfielder, although a £30m asking price has made a move complicated.

### The Verdict: Good option?

If United can lower that reported £30m asking price, a move for Paredes could be a shrewd one.

He has plenty of experience at the highest level in [four](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leandro-paredes/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/166237) different countries and has played Champions League football over the past [four](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/leandro-paredes/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/166237) seasons alongside some of the best players in the world.

Erik ten Hag has limited [defensive and central midfield options](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-united/kader/verein/985) ahead of the new season at this moment in time, so Paredes would bolster both areas and could be a smart squad depth signing if the price is right alongside a [potential marquee addition](https://www.teamtalk.com/manchester-united/frenkie-de-jong-man-utd-move-transfer-breakthrough-resting-barcelona-talks) in Frenkie de Jong.
