# Manchester United: Jack Grealish over James Maddison receives transfer green light from supporters

**According to a report from the [Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1239927/Man-Utd-Transfer-News-James-Maddison-Leicester-Contract-Aston-Villa), Manchester United have switched their attention to Aston Villa playmaker Jack Grealish over Leicester City’s James Maddison as they prepare to storm the summer window – with this news receiving huge approval from supporters.**

Despite signing Portuguese attacking midfielder Bruno Fernandes in January for [£47m](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51292312) from Sporting Lisbon, that hasn’t stopped United from prowling the market for more creative talent going forward, with the [Daily Express](https://www.express.co.uk/sport/football/1239927/Man-Utd-Transfer-News-James-Maddison-Leicester-Contract-Aston-Villa) claiming the Red Devils have turned their attention to Grealish as a priority over Maddison. When comparing the two midfielders, they appear to be neck-and-neck in terms of stats, with Grealish edging the Foxes attacker in terms of dribbles ([2.4](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/113069/Show/Jack-Grealish)) while registering more goals and assists combined ([12](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/113069/Show/Jack-Grealish)), as [per WhoScored.com](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/113069/Show/Jack-Grealish).

However, Maddison reigns supreme when it comes to shots per game ([2.4](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/137015/Show/James-Maddison)) and Man of the Match awards ([4](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/137015/Show/James-Maddison)) this season. Despite even numbers, these United supporters have made it clear who they prefer out the English duo, hailing what would be the ‘[genius](https://twitter.com/nebiyoufa/status/1226892298958594049?s=21)‘ acquisition of Grealish.

> Just makes more sense all round, Leicester will quite rightly for them want to a big fee for Maddison. Grealish would offer much better value and tbh there’s not that much difference in ability between them.
