# Manchester United: James Maddison’s revelation over wanting Old Trafford move has supporters divided

**According to a report from the [Manchester Evening News](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-united-james-maddison-transfer-17747442), Leicester City star midfielder James Maddison ‘[would have been at United years ago](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-united-james-maddison-transfer-17747442)‘ if it was up to him, potentially indicating a heavy interest in swapping the King Power Stadium for Old Trafford.**

Maddison, who has shone in the Foxes’ midfield this season, scoring [six goals and assisting three others](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/137015/Show/James-Maddison) as Brendan Rodgers’ side challenge for the top four, is attracting interest from the Red Devils as they prepare for a whopping £274m transfer spree ([The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/football/10961984/man-utd-sancho-grealish-maddison/)).

Alongside Maddison, fellow creative midfielder Jack Grealish is also being targeted, with the pair potentially joining [new signing](https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/51292312) Bruno Fernandes in the summer. Comparing the duo, Grealish and Maddison are neck-and-neck when it comes to offensive statistics, with the latter attempting more shots per game on average ([2.4](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/137015/Show/James-Maddison)) while the former has completed more dribbles ([2.4](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/113069/Show/Jack-Grealish)), as [per WhoScored.com.](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/113069/Show/Jack-Grealish)

However, according to [Manchester Evening News](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-united-james-maddison-transfer-17747442), Maddison has been ‘[earmarked](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-united-james-maddison-transfer-17747442)‘ as the club’s prime attacking target, resulting in waves of United supporters expressing contrasting opinions over the ‘[expensive](https://publish.twitter.com/?query=https%3A%2F%2Ftwitter.com%2FAlexander020711%2Fstatus%2F1228289119102566403&widget=Tweet)‘ player.
