# Manchester United: Jeremie Boga is a transfer target for the Red Devils

**It is no secret that Manchester United are looking to add even more firepower to close the gap on [Liverpool](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/06/29/ole-gunnar-solskjaer-says-manchester-united-could-target-another/), the newly-crowned Premier League champions.**

Although Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford and Mason Greenwood have impressed with [51 goals between them](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-united/leistungsdaten/verein/985) this season, [Ole Gunnar Solskjaer](https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/06/29/ole-gunnar-solskjaer-says-manchester-united-could-target-another/) has admitted he is eager to add to the attacking options at his disposal.

Solskjaer has made it clear that [Jadon Sancho](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/man-utds-three-top-priority-22120280) remains his top priority this summer, but now another name has entered the mix.

Jeremie Boga came through the famous Chelsea academy, although he spent the majority of his time out on [loan](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jeremie-boga/profil/spieler/216569), as has become [tradition at Stamford Bridge](https://www.planetfootball.com/quick-reads/the-28-chelsea-players-out-on-loan-this-season-and-how-theyre-faring/). However, he grew frustrated by a lack of opportunities and promptly jumped ship to [Sassuolo](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/boga-has-no-regrets-over-chelsea-exit-after-best-season-with/1o41dtfvxpxbc1d8x64j3lm0zb) when the chance arose.

Boga has enjoyed his best season with the Neroverdi so far, scoring 10 goals in 28 games in Serie A, taking 1.7 shots and attempting 4.1 dribbles per game (via [WhoScored](https://www.whoscored.com/Players/280766/Show/Jeremie-Boga)).

[\[freshpress-poll id=”307948″\]](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/[freshpress-poll%20id=%22307948%22])

According to [Foot Mercato](https://www.footmercato.net/a5826105963176440242-la-sensation-jeremie-boga-affole-le-mercato), as relayed by [Sport Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/man-united-made-timid-approach-serie-sensation-club-want-e30m-minimum/), Manchester United are keen to sign the Ivorian and have made a tentative approach.

His heroics have attracted attention from major European clubs like [Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Barcelona](https://sportwitness.co.uk/man-united-made-timid-approach-serie-sensation-club-want-e30m-minimum/). The 23-year-old is currently valued at £14m via [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jeremie-boga/profil/spieler/216569) but it is likely that he won’t come cheap.

It is also worth pointing out that the Blues have [a buy-back clause](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jeremie-boga/profil/spieler/216569) on their academy graduate, although it remains to be seen if they will exercise the option.

If the Red Devils are serious about buying Boga, they could face stiff competition for his signature, which explains why the board have “[shown little interest of going further](https://www.footmercato.net/a5826105963176440242-la-sensation-jeremie-boga-affole-le-mercato)” for now.

Moreover, United may choose to pool all of their attention into pursuing [Sancho](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-transfer-rumours/manchester-united-red-devils-given-major-jadon-sancho-boost-as-man-city-pull-out-of-the-race/) instead, as the one-time [Ivory Coast](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/jeremie-boga/profil/spieler/216569) international has insisted that he is committed to [Sassuolo](https://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/for-now-im-in-sassuolo-jeremie-boga-on-his-future/13fm0w61avhi51wip77xgvjy3e).
