Manchester United and Liverpool could compete with Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich for the signature of Juventus defender Bremer. The 28-year-old has impressed since his long awaited return from an ACL injury, and Italian publication Calciomercato reports that the player could be the subject of a three way transfer battle next summer.
Bremer was a key figure in the Juventus defence before his injury sidelined him for the better part of a year. He was one of the players considered unsellable for the most part by the Juve hierarchy.
Calciomercato adds that only “mind-blowing” offers in the region of €70m to €80m would be enough to open conversations for the player, as Juve consider him an essential piece to the side. Bremer joined Juventus from rival Torino in 2022, and quickly became a leader for the Old Lady.
He has four years remaining on his contract, so any deal is seen as particularly tricky.
United and Liverpool in for Bremer

United are believed to be prioritizing defence in upcoming transfer windows, having invested heavily in the attacking areas this summer. The Red Devils spent over £207m on Matheus Cunha, Bryan Mbeumo, and Benjamin Sesko on the back of their lowest ever scoring season in 2024/2025.
The Red Devils scored just 44 goals last season as they finished 15th in the table. Defensive struggles have been an issue for United as well however, as they shipped 54 goals last season and finished with a negative goal differential for the first time since 1990. Ruben Amorim could target more reinforcements in central defence.
Liverpool might be on the market for a replacement for Ibrahima Konate next summer, with the Frenchman heavily linked to a free transfer to Real Madrid. Konate’s contract expires next summer and so far has not made progress on an extension.
Liverpool failed in an attempt to sign Crystal Palace skipper Marc Guehi on deadline day this summer, suggesting they are preparing for a future with or without Konate. As it stands, only Joe Gomez remains as senior cover behind Van Djik and Konate, and given Van Dijk’s age there is a case to be made for the Reds to target both Guehi and Bremer next summer.
