# Manchester United: Loads of fans and pundits rave over Aaron Wan-Bissaka

**Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s impressive performance against Manchester City has earned plenty of high praise from fans and pundits alike, including [Match of the Day regular Jermaine Jenas](https://metro.co.uk/2020/03/09/jermaine-jenas-praises-annoying-aaron-wan-bissaka-keeping-raheem-sterling-quiet-manchester-united-win-12369394/).**

[Speaking on Match of the Day via the Metro](https://metro.co.uk/2020/03/09/jermaine-jenas-praises-annoying-aaron-wan-bissaka-keeping-raheem-sterling-quiet-manchester-united-win-12369394/), Jenas said: “We know he’s good at defending but the one-vs-one battle between him and Sterling was something I was really looking forward to and it was something that Wan-Bissaka came out on top of during the game.”

The Manchester United defender got the better of City star Raheem Sterling throughout the 2-0 victory over their rivals, earning himself a high rating of 8. Wan-Bissaka made 2 clearances, 3 interceptions and 8 tackles during the game, including a great challenge on Gabriel Jesus in a last-ditched attempt to prevent a goal-scoring opportunity ([SofaScore](https://www.sofascore.com/player/aaron-wan-bissaka/863653)).

Jenas added: “It was a big tackle in a big moment during the game. What a performance.”

Solskjaer’s side achieved the club’s first league double against Manchester City in over a decade thanks to goals from Anthony Martial and Scott McTominay ([Guardian](https://www.theguardian.com/football/2020/mar/08/manchester-united-manchester-city-premier-league-match-report-derby)).

Writing in [The Times](https://www.thetimes.co.uk/article/gareth-southgate-sees-dominant-display-from-aaron-wan-bissaka-k9sng7psn) Paul Hirst suggested “the United right back is playing with confidence and is ready for England duty.”

Wan-Bissaka has earned 3 caps for the national team at under U21 level so far ([Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/aaron-wan-bissaka/profil/spieler/477758)). With the Euros fast approaching, the 22-year-old is surely a contender to be in the senior squad off the back of his recent performances.
