# Manchester United: Red Devils name-checked for Denzel Dumfries bid

**[Manchester United](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/) may be launching a €30m (£26m) bid for Inter Milan full-back Denzel Dumfries.**

### The Lowdown: Malacia move

The Red Devils finally appear to be making transfer breakthroughs for Erik ten Hag ahead of his first season in charge. The club have reportedly [agreed deals](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-united-de-jong-malacia-24348639) in principle for priority target Frenkie de Jong and Feyenoord left-back Tyrell Malacia.

Malacia was set to join [Lyon](https://twitter.com/SkySportsNews/status/1541800441658351616), however, United appear to have [hijacked](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-united-de-jong-malacia-24348639) a move for the left-back, and it looks as if the opposite flank is now up next on Ten Hag’s radar.

### The Latest: Dumfries offer?

[Sports Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/presumably-manchester-united-pl-club-ready-offer-e30m-defender-ten-hag-likes-player/) relayed an update from Milan-based outlet [L’Interista](https://www.linterista.it/primo-piano/l-interista-in-arrivo-dalla-premier-un-offerta-da-30-milioni-per-dumfries-51923) regarding Dumfries on Monday.

They claimed that the right wing back has been targeted by Premier League clubs and ‘one of these, presumably Manchester United, is ready to offer €30m for his transfer’.

The report calls a move ‘one to keep an eye on’ because the Red Devils are plotting a ‘mini revolution’.

### The Verdict: Wan-Bissaka replacement?

United have Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka as [senior](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/manchester-united/kader/verein/985) options at right-back, with the latter of the two not thought to be in Ten Hag’s [plans](https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/12616652/aaron-wan-bissaka-manchester-united-open-to-offers-for-defender-in-summer-transfer-window). Should the Red Devils find Wan-Bissaka a new club, Dumfries could prove to be a replacement and potentially become the third Dutchman to move to Manchester under Ten Hag.

The Netherlands international has been labelled as a [‘difference maker’](https://twitter.com/SiavoushF/status/1484962611703730179) by Eurosport journalist Siavoush Fallahi and appears to be at the peak of his powers at the age of 26 and a career-high £22.5m [Transfermarkt](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/denzel-dumfries/marktwertverlauf/spieler/321528) valuation.

He would also be able to provide cover at [centre-back and as a right-midfielder](https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/denzel-dumfries/leistungsdatendetails/spieler/321528) if required, and with [Fabrizio Romano](https://www.footballtransfertavern.com/manchester-united-news/denzel-dumfries-man-utd-transfer-latest-romano-ten-hag/) claiming Dumfries is a player who Ten Hag knows ‘so well’, it could be one worth tracking.
